Best Social Media Schedulers for ChatGPT & Claude (2026)
PostPiper is a social media scheduler that lets you publish directly from ChatGPT, Claude and AI agents.
For a free MCP workflow, start with PostPiper or Buffer. Compare Postiz and Upload-Post for more publishing destinations, or Publer if you already need its Business plan. I'm Kevin Wu, PostPiper's founder, and I have a commercial interest in this comparison.
TL;DR: six schedulers for ChatGPT and Claude
| Tool | AI integration | Free allowance | Starting price | Supported publishing platforms |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PostPiper | Hosted MCP with OAuth; REST API | 30 one-time post credits, including MCP/API | $10/month for 1,000 successful posts and unlimited connected accounts | X, LinkedIn; coming soon: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and others |
| Buffer | Official MCP; GraphQL API | 3 channels; 10 queued posts/channel; MCP included | Free; Essentials $5/channel/month, billed yearly | Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and others |
| Postiz | Hosted MCP, API, CLI and webhooks | 7-day hosted trial | Standard $29/month for 5 channels | X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and others |
| Publer | MCP/API on eligible Business and Enterprise accounts | Free app: 3 accounts, excluding X; 10 queued posts/account; no MCP/API | Professional $5/month; Business with MCP/API from $10/month for 1 account | Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads and others |
| Metricool | MCP on all plans; API on Advanced/Custom | 1 brand; 20 posts/month; MCP included; no LinkedIn or X | Free; Starter from $25/month, or $20/month billed yearly; X costs extra | Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and others; LinkedIn and X require paid access |
| Upload-Post | Hosted MCP with OAuth; REST API | 10 uploads/month; 2 profiles; no TikTok | Free; Basic $24/month, or $16/month billed yearly, for 5 profiles | Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and others |
A queue allowance counts posts waiting to publish; a monthly allowance counts usage over a month. One-time credits do not renew. AI-client subscriptions and connector permissions are separate from these scheduler plans. For ChatGPT, check custom MCP server access; for Claude, check custom connector access.
1. PostPiper: for drafts that start in an AI conversation
With PostPiper, founders can turn release notes or posts prepared in ChatGPT or Claude into scheduled content from the same conversation.

Connect a social account in the dashboard and authorize the MCP scheduler. Ask your assistant to create a draft, then review the account, copy, and time before scheduling.

New accounts receive 30 one-time credits; monthly plans start at $10 for 1,000 successful posts with unlimited connected accounts.
The current MCP guide covers X and LinkedIn publishing. Support for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other networks is being added. Check availability before planning posts for those platforms. Analytics are also coming soon.

2. Buffer: for a free queue with official MCP access
I'd try Buffer first for a small posting routine on an ongoing free plan.
Its official MCP server connects ChatGPT and Claude to drafts, scheduling, and the queue. You also get API access with request limits listed on the pricing page.
Free includes three channels and ten queued posts per channel. When you outgrow Free, add up the channels you need: Essentials starts at $5 per channel per month on annual billing.
If someone needs to approve your posts, check Team. Test the network and media format you'll actually use before moving your queue.
3. Postiz: for agents that need more publishing destinations
For an agent that needs destinations beyond PostPiper's documented MCP coverage, I'd compare Postiz.
Its hosted plans include MCP, a CLI, the public API, and webhooks, with publishing destinations including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Standard costs $29 per month for five channels. The seven-day hosted trial gives you time to try a draft and scheduled post through the interface you plan to use; budget for a paid plan afterward.
For several brands, I would count every account before signing up. Five channels may cover your setup, or you may need a higher plan.
4. Publer: for teams already considering Business
If you already need Publer's bulk scheduling and team workflows, check what Business would cost for your accounts and additional members.
MCP requires Business or Enterprise, and API access also depends on eligibility. The MCP setup guide explains OAuth and API-key connections for ChatGPT, Claude, and other clients.
The one-account Business starting price is $10 per month. Professional starts at $5, but you'll need the higher tier for this AI integration.
Free includes three eligible accounts and a small queue, excluding X; it won't cover the connection described here.
5. Metricool: for scheduling alongside analytics
Metricool lets an assistant work with your content plan and metrics.
Its MCP is available on every plan, including Free, while direct API access requires Advanced or Custom.
I'd follow the OAuth connection guide before trying a token-based setup: a route that uses the API can require Advanced even when MCP itself is free. Check which connection your client is using before paying for an upgrade.
Free allows one brand and twenty posts per month, with no LinkedIn or X connection. The same limits apply through MCP.
6. Upload-Post: for an API workflow across several networks
With Upload-Post, developers can use the same publishing service from an AI conversation or a custom application.
Its MCP server and REST API support publishing and scheduling on networks including Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
The Free plan includes ten uploads per month and two profiles, excluding TikTok. Basic costs $24 per month, or $16 per month billed yearly, for five profiles. Each profile holds one account per network.
Budget an extra $19/month for X link posts, and check the API reference for availability: it currently marks Reddit posting as unavailable despite the broader platform listing.
How to choose
- For a small free MCP queue, compare Buffer with Metricool; choose by required networks and queue versus monthly limits.
- For drafting in chat with PostPiper's documented X/LinkedIn workflow, try its one-time credits; compare Postiz or Upload-Post when you need other destinations.
- For an existing Publer workflow, price Business with every account and member; Professional's lower starting price does not include MCP.
For setup, use the MCP scheduler guide or API quickstart. For a broader AI social media scheduler comparison, compare the full account setup before paying.
Methodology and last updated
Last updated: November 1, 2026. I reviewed each service's official pricing and connector documentation, including authentication methods and plan restrictions. This founder-authored documentation comparison does not include independent testing or an authenticated publishing benchmark across all six services.
Before moving your schedule, test one post in your own ChatGPT or Claude account. List connected accounts and create a draft. Review its destination and time zone before scheduling, then check the published URL. Record the client, plan, test date, and result. A successful connection alone does not establish publishing reliability.
Frequently asked questions
Can ChatGPT schedule social media posts?
Yes, when connected to a scheduler with publishing tools. Your ChatGPT account or workspace must allow the relevant plugin or custom MCP server, and you must authorize the scheduler and connect your social accounts. The scheduler stores the schedule and publishes the post; a draft in chat alone does not schedule anything.
What is an MCP scheduler?
An MCP scheduler exposes scheduling actions through Model Context Protocol so an AI client can call them. For social publishing, those actions can include listing accounts, creating drafts, and scheduling posts. MCP provides the connection; the scheduler's network support, permissions, and plan limits still apply.
Which social media schedulers work with Claude for free?
Buffer and Metricool include MCP on ongoing free plans. Upload-Post includes MCP with a limited monthly upload allowance. PostPiper provides 30 one-time credits, while Postiz offers a hosted trial. These offers have different limits, and Claude connector access is separate from the scheduler's free allowance.
Does an API mean I can connect a scheduler directly to ChatGPT or Claude?
No. An API provides endpoints that code or an automation can call. A ready-made MCP server exposes tools an MCP client can discover. For an API-only workflow, you need an integration that connects the client to those endpoints. Check authentication and write permissions as well as whether the API exists.
